DAVE MATTER is the Co-Chief Investment Officer at Silver Creek and the chair of the Investment Committee. Along with Mr. Dillon, he is responsible for all investment research activities, manager sourcing, portfolio construction and risk management. Prior to joining Silver Creek in 2024, Mr. Matter was a Managing Director at BlackRock where he served as the Co-Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock Alternative Advisors (BAA), BlackRock’s Hedge Fund Solutions team, which grew to more than $30 billion of client assets during his tenure. He chaired the BAA Investment Committee, and he also was a member of the BAA Management Committee and the Co-Investment Portfolio Management Group. Mr. Matter joined BAA by way of acquisition in 2007, when BlackRock acquired the alternative investment management business of Quellos.  At Quellos, he was a Principal and member of the Investment Committee, responsible for managing absolute return portfolios and investment research. Mr. Matter began his career at Capital Group and later moved to Bankers Trust. He holds an MBA and MAIS from the University of Washington and a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania.  He is a CFA® charterholder.
